Phasing out your SDH Services in Denmark
As of July 1, 2019, we stop offering SDH services in Denmark to new customers according to the Service Description, appendix A of the Nordic Network Capacity Service Attachment.
For those of you who are already customers and have circuits in Denmark it will still be possible to make changes to or relocate existing circuits as well as ordering new circuits to a lesser extent, e.g. for expanding transmission capacity to interconnects. Circuits outside Denmark are not affected by this phase-out.
The agreements and circuits will terminate on July 1, 2021.
Since the minimum duration of an agreement is 12 months, beyond July 1, 2020 it will not be possible to enter into a new contract it will therefore not be possible to order new circuits.
We expect that the stated deadline provides sufficient time for you to to plan the technology shift together with your end customers. We look forward to expanding our cooperation on other and more up-to-date capacity products, and we hope that you will contact us via your Account Manager so that we may enter into an active dialogue with you in order to migrate the circuits to other TDC products.
The reason behind this decision is that SDH services are at the end of their life cycle, and that we, like other providers in the Danish and international market, see the underlying platforms as obsolete technology ripe for phasing out.
Several of you use SDH services in connection with the exchange of traffic on landlines and in the mobile area, where we are already discussing new solutions to the main application, which within the time frame makes the current setup for capacity obsolete.
Customers using capacities in the DWDM network will still be able to purchase these from the Service Description, appendix A to the Nordic Network Capacity Service Attachment.
